Corporate Sponsorship
 |
Southern Area Hospice Services recognises that local companies are often looking for ways in which they can show their commitment to the local community, but at a reasonable price and with recognised and valuable benefits. Many companies work with Southern Area Hospice Services to achieve their objectives in the business sector, to retain and motivate staff and to demonstrate their commitment to the community within the Southern Health Board Area.

Sponsor a Room
Your company can sponsor a room in the hospice for a one-off donation of either £1,000 for a one-year sponsorship, or £4,000 for a five-year sponsorship. On average approximately 24 patients use each room each year, the individual rooms affording both the patients and their families maximum privacy and dignity.
In return your company will join our Corporate Roll of Honour and receive a framed certificate, which can be displayed on your premises.
“Your room sponsorship will directly touch the
lives of approximately 24 patients and their families each year”
Hospice 500 Club
Local businesses throughout the Southern Health Board region have been invited to join the hospice 500 club. The deadline has not yet closed but we still have some way to go before making our target of 500 businesses, thus ensuring £50,000 is raised to develop hospice services throughout the Southern Health Board.
Please consider joining and contact Fiona Stephens for an entry form on stephensf@southernareahospiceservices.org or telephone fundraising on (028) 30251333. For just £100 your business can become part of this exclusive club and be entered into a draw for a £1,000 holiday voucher. Just some of the companies who have joined the 500 Club are listed below. (NB if you have joined but your name does not appear below, it will appear in next newsletter)
Lottery
 |
|
Why not play the lottery for a charity that touches the lives of so many. Encourage staff to join our weekly hospice lottery for just £1.00 and they could win part of a total prize fund of £1,000 weekly, the first prize being £500 alone. You can pay by direct debit or set up a syndicate within your workplace. To find out more information on the Hospice Lottery please click here. |
Sponsor an Event
The Hospice holds a number of annual events. Your company can support the work of the Hospice by sponsoring one of these events. In return, your company will benefit from associated press coverage and photo opportunities as well as having your details mailed to over 15,000 Hospice supporters via our quarterly newsletter. Click here to see our events calendar. Please see below four examples of event sponsors:
- Buttercrane Shopping Centre, Newry have become the sponsor of the 2007 Light Up a Life leaflets and cards. In gaining sponsorship for events can help us provide more direct mailing to the public and provide events that are important to the community. - Prentice Motors and Autoline Insurance Group were the sponsors for the MIni One Car 2007 (with one years free insurance) campaign.
- Shown below is photos of the O'Hares fashion show in Warrenpoint. Frank Mitchell was the special guest on the night::
Employee Fundraising Activities
This is a great way of involving staff in fun activities and to increase morale while supporting your local Hospice. Taking part in activities helps develop teamwork and shows staff the human side of your business. There are many ways to get involved:
- Fun Runs
- Sponsored Walk
- Dress differently days
- Staff Barbeques
- Quizzes
- Car washing
- Coffee Morning
- Collection box for your canteen
- Take part in our challenging events such as treks or marathon
- Fashion Show
Nominate us as your “Charity of the Year” and our fundraising staff will work with you to ensure that both maximum funds and your company profile are raised.
Corporate Entertaining
Corporate entertaining with the Hospice allows you to entertain valued clients at high profile events or indeed reward employees with the opportunity to attend high profile events! Corporate Entertaining events provide excellent networking opportunities. Current opportunities include for example:
- Annual Golf tournament in Warrenpoint Golf Club as well as other golfing events spread throughout the Southern Health Board Area
- Annual Ladies Luncheon: includes five course meal and celebrity speakers
- Annual Dinner Dance
- Corporate Business Lunch
Payroll
"Can you or your colleagues give up ONE glass of wine a month?
And donate the money to Southern Area Hospice Services?” |

|

|
|
Payroll giving scheme is a simple tax-efficient way for your employees to give to the hospice directly from their pay. Many companies are joining this scheme and giving £1 costs just 78 pence to the individual. As a donation is taken from your salary before tax is calculated, every £1 pledged actually costs you 78p. (based on 22% tax). Donating regularly through payroll is one of the most flexible and hassle-free ways for you and your colleagues to engage in charitable giving. There is really no better time to begin Payroll Giving in your organisation. |
Recycle now and turn Trash into Cash!
The hospice has teamed up with local recycling company Eurosource and is currently collecting all types of mobile phones and empty printer cartridges. Millions of cartridges are thrown away every year. We could benefit enormously if these came our way instead. Help your environment and your hospice by encouraging family, friends and employers to join the campaign. For more information contact Fiona Stephens at (028) 3025 1333.
There are many ways in which you can help. All sponsorship packages support core services of the Hospice such as direct patient care. Southern Area Hospice Services gives you the opportunity to enhance your profile on a regional level with business people and the local community.
