Sponsored Walk Raises £11,030
Following an extremely successful fundraising effort by Jill Stevenson, she was delighted to present the Hospice with the fantastic sum of £11,030.00. The money was raised from a Sponsored Walk in Peatlands Park and a Country and Gospel night in Annaghmore Parish Hall on Saturday 17th March. Jill thanked everyone involved by saying, “I want to let everyone know how grateful I am for all that they did to help me raise this money for Southern Area Hospice. I could not have done this without the help of so many people like the caterers (Price’s, The Cookery Nook and the Fosters) and Dean Gray for all the milk he gave us! The support for this Cross Community event was fabulous and it really was so enjoyable. I cant thank everyone by name so if you were involved by taking part in the walk or you helped in any other way, please accept my sincere thanks and appreciation.”
Kerry Quinn, speaking on behalf of Southern Area Hospice Services thanked Jill, Eileen and Dorothy, “I am delighted that these two events were such a success for Jill and her team of helpers as they really put so much effort in to the whole thing. Their efforts have helped us so much in our goal of raising £1.79 million in 2007. Without the help of our local community, we would not be able to remain in operation and continue to care for all the people who need our help. Thanks to everyone who supported her so generously.”
