Payroll Giving

Payroll giving is a simple and tax effective way for your employees to support the hospice with a regular donation.

Benefits to businesses:
Offering the Payroll Giving scheme shows that a company is committed to working in partnership with the community. Over 60% of businesses offering the scheme say it improves their company image.

For example, it would only cost an employee who pays tax at the basic rate of 20 per cent £8 to make a £10 donation to their charity. And it would only cost an employee who pays tax at the higher rate of 40 per cent £6 to make the same sized donation.
Once set up it is very simple to run and no-one can vouch for that more than Frances McGivern of Glen Electric in Newry who last year alone processed over £4,000 in donations to the hospice from employees.

Frances says,

“We at Glen Electric have been giving monthly to the hospice for a number of years. We all wanted to support the hospice because of the wonderful care it has given to many families who have worked here not to mention friends and neighbours outside of work. It really is very easy to administer and each time I send off a cheque to the hospice it gives all of us a great sense of supporting others in our community.
I would encourage all employers to offer this to their staff as an easy way to give to charity!”
