Do
Your Own Fundraising
Fundraising for Southern
Area Hospice Services is a great way of helping to continue providing care to
patients suffering with terminal illnesses. With your help we can really make
a difference to the lives of many people.
You may already know what you would like to do but in case you do not, we have
lots of ideas to help get your fundraising started!! Whether you plan to do
charity fundraising at school or college, at work or with your friends and family,
the money you raise will help more families. Please see below of ideas or check
out our a – z of fundraising ideas
Schools
Last year schools throughout the Southern Health Board area raised more than
£36,000 for the hospice. One of the many ways for schools to help out
is the coin quest. If you are interested in this or finding out about the other
ways in which schools can help their local hospice please contact the fundraising
office (028) 3025 1333. Thank you for your continued support.
Coin Quest
Coin Quest is to continue in 2009 for primary schools and the Copper Hunt to
continue for the secondary schools. Coin Quest helps to inform all schools about
the services we offer and at the very least make sure that they know that we
are their local hospice and that they should be supporting us. Cheque presentations
and School Talks are offered to all schools participating in order that we may
increase our profile within the local community and also the schools can increase
their positive profile.
Home Boxes
Anyone can take a collection box and place it in their home to collect loose
change as a way of raising funds for their local Hospice. When the home box
is full, it can be returned to the fundraising office to be emptied.
Flag Days
Flag Days/ Street Collections were held historically in the Newry & Mourne
region. Over the past number of years this has continued to move to other towns
and villages in the Southern Health Board region. SAHS need to recruit as many
locals as possible to assist during the Flag Day. If you have any spare time
and would like to help during the Flag Day, please contact the Fundraising Office
for more information within your area.
Wedding Favours
Southern Area Hospice Services can offer you a range of favours for your guests,
including scrolls, pens, trolley tokens and pins. All proceeds from the wedding
favours goes towards the continuing care the Hospice provides to patients in
Armagh, Dungannon, Craigavon, Banbridge and Newry and Mourne.
What better way is there to celebrate new beginnings, than by helping others?

Arrange an Event
You could raise vital funds by organising an event in your area.
Many activities are quick and easy to set up while others will take more time
to organise. We suggest you choose the one that you think you will enjoy most.
