London Marathon
Are you a keen runner? Is it an ambition of yours to complete the London Marathon? Have you a dream to be like Paula Radcliffe or Dwain Chambers for a day and to feel the adrenalin of participating in one of the world’s greatest sporting events?
In 2007, for the first time ever Southern Area Hospice Services has 10 guaranteed places in next year’s Flora London Marathon, being held on 22nd April 2007 and Hospice Doctor, Dr Lawrence Dorman, has been the first to sign up.
Dr Dorman is urging people in the locality to support the team of runners who are participating in the London Marathon through their training and their fundraising. Dr Dorman said:
"This is a fantastic opportunity for the Hospice to be able to send ten people to one of the greatest and most challenging events of the sporting calendar. I'm really looking forward to it. Working for Hospice, I have first hand experience of how important the services that the hospice provides are for those patients and their families who need them. By competing in the London Marathon 2007 for Hospice we hope to raise thousands of pounds for the Hospice to help reach the £1.74million target so the hospice can continue to provide vital services for local people".
