City Marathon
25th May 2009 was the date set for the second running
of the Newry City Marathon.
Many participants ran the marathon, half marathon, and

till U Drop raises £9169.27 for Hospice!
Monday 23rd February 2009 saw 800 people descend upon
the Canal Court Hotel for the Annual Bop till U Drop Event.

Hospice Dinner Dance raised £45,000
On Tuesday 28th April 2009 Liam Goss, Chairperson of Southern
Area Hospice Dinner Dance Committee, together with other
committee members, presented a cheque for £45,000
to Mrs Ann Cooney (Chief Executive) of the Southern Area
Hospice Services.

A new Counselling and Therapy Centre for patients and
families affected by Cancer, Motor Neurone Disease and
MS has officially opened in Newry.

Garment Fitting Service available at the Donaldson Centre
A new Garment Fitting Service has been launched in Newry
for women who have had breast surgery.
The service will start on Tuesday 21st April and will
be available every Tuesday and Thursday morning in the
Donaldson Centre, on the 3rd floor at Southern Area Hospice,
St.John’s House, Courtenay Hill, Newry.

Year of Sit Out Raises Fantastic Funds For Hospice
John Dalzell, MBE and his Sit Out team have been braving
the elements for another year with tremendous results
raising a fantastic £97,000 for hospice services.
