This event is being run as part of the 20th Anniversary Celebrations
for the Southern Area Hospice Services. This is the third round of regional
heats for this competition. Auditions are also taking place in the Banville
House Hotel in Banbridge on 31st May and the Glenavon in Cookstown on Sunday
24th June.
Judging the competition is Declan Legge, Music Producer from Big Space Studios,
Rozalyn Sheridan Director of the Sheridan Stage School, Shane McBreen Chairman
of Media Ireland and founder of Iur FM and Catherine Grimley, local singer and
All Ireland Finalist. All our judges are from various backgrounds in the business
and have a vast experience in the music industry, so they will have no problems
“dishing out the dirt” and giving constructive criticism in line
with Simon Cowell and his team.
The lucky winner of the competition will spend two days in Big Space Studios
www.bigspacestudios.co.uk to record their winning song and also compose their
own song with well known music producer Declan Legge, and then have the opportunity
to sell their CD in aid of SAHS, as well as receiving £500 cash prize.
There will also be cash prizes of £250 for second place and £100
for third place. Registration is £10 on the day or alternatively you can
pre-register on our website at www.southernareahospiceservices.org. or contact
Fundraising on 02830251333. Registration will be open from 1pm on Sunday 7th
June in the Canal Court Hotel and shall run until 6pm, so come along and give
us a song and be in for the chance to record your own CD and win £500.
