Social Work

The Social Worker’s main responsibility is to recognise and respond to the psychological, social, emotional and practical needs of both patients and their families. They are trained to offer support and assess patients and their families' needs relating to issues of living with a serious illness, impending death, loss and grief.

Southern Area Hospice Services Carer's Group - provides support and information for carer's of those with a life-limiting illness. Our Group meets the last friday of every month at SAHS Newry.  If you would like to join or would like further information on this service, please contact the Social Work Team.
