Good quality palliative and end of life care can make a real difference to the quality of life both for people living with a progressive, life-limiting condition and those important to them. The dedication, professionalism and passion shown by staff and volunteers in the Southern Area Hospice Services have been clearly evident as I have heard about and seen at first hand the very valuable work being done to support people in this area with palliative and end of life care needs.”
Welcoming Mr. Pengelly to the Southern Area Hospice Services, Liz Cuddy CEO said: “We would like to thank Mr. Pengelly for visiting our Hospice and for his kind words and praise of our services. This visit gave the Permanent Secretary an opportunity to chat not only with our staff, but also to hear from patients in our Inpatient Unit and Day Hospice about the importance of our services. In addition to the tour of our facilities, we had the opportunity to share and discuss our aspirations for the delivery of future services in order to meet the demand for palliative care in this region.”
