Southern Area Hospice Hosts a Night to Remember
The Southern Area Hospice hosted their annual Light Up a Life Illumination Ceremony on Thursday, 12th of December in the hospice grounds. This was a very special evening with every one of the hundreds of lights on this beautiful Christmas tree dedicated to someone who is being remembered this Christmas.
Speaking on behalf of the Hospice, Bridget Smyth, Director of Care, said: “Tonight is a very special night for us all here at Southern Area Hospice. It is a night when we welcome back many families for whom this evening is part of their Christmas traditions and welcome those who are joining us for the first time. This is a very poignant night where we gather around our beautiful tree and remember our loved ones who will not be with us this year.
We want to thank everyone for coming out tonight and extend our gratitude to those who have supported this campaign. We thank our sponsors, Gordons Chemists and Killowen Contracts, as well as everyone who worked hard to make this evening a special one for all those who attend”.
Each year families from the Southern Trust Area who have experienced Hospice care and services, share their own personal stories as part of Light Up a Life and this year the Hospice would like to say a special thank you to Charlotte Robinson and the Robinson Family for sharing their heartfelt story.
