Southern Area Hospice Represents at Palliative Care Congress 2025

Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) Trainee Bernie Torley took the stage as a guest speaker at the Palliative Care Congress 2025 on Thursday, 20th March, sharing insights into the evolving landscape of palliative care.

Bernie’s presentation, “It’s No Longer 9-5: The Reality of Out of Hours Care in the Community,” explored the challenges and changes in delivering palliative care outside of traditional working hours. She was part of the Nursing Session: Looking to the Future – The Changing Landscape of Palliative Care, following insightful talks from Dr. Esther Beck and Dr. Felicity Hasson.

Her contribution added to an important discussion on how palliative care services can adapt to meet the growing needs of patients and families, particularly during out-of-hours periods.
