Terms and Conditions 2024

 

  1. These terms and conditions outline the rules for the Southern Area Hospice 'Win a Car' draw. By entering, all participants agree to be bound by these terms.
  2. The Promoter
    1. The promotor is Southern Area Hospice Services, St. John’s House, 3 Courtenay Hill Newry, BT34 2EA. T: 028 30267711 E: fundraising@southernareahospiceservices.org

 

  1. The Prize
    1. The prize is non-transferable and non-negotiable.
    2. There will be one winner of a KIA Picanto GT car for the 1st prize and no cash alternative will be offered.
    3. 1st Prize winner will also receive free car insurance up to the value of £500 for one year for said car only.  No cash alternative will be offered.
    4. The winner is responsible for any additional costs, including registration, tax, insurance beyond £500, and collection of the car.
    5. Winner must be 16 or older to claim the prize.

 

  1. Car Insurance Terms and Conditions
  1. The winner must pay any insurance cost exceeding £500.
  2. Southern Area Hospice will contribute up to £500 towards the first year's insurance.
  3. The winner can take out car insurance from a provider of their choice.
  4. Southern Area Hospice is not responsible for any discrepancies in insurance costs.
  5. The car insurance transaction must be completed, and an insurance policy taken out before the winner takes delivery of the car.
  6. Southern Area Hospice will transfer the £500 insurance contribution to the winner's chosen insurer.
  7. Failure to arrange insurance within a reasonable time may result in forfeiture of the £500 insurance contribution.
  8. The insurance contribution is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

 

  1. Entry
  1. The closing date for online entries is 9pm on Wednesday, 30th October 2024. Entries after this will be considered donations.
  2. Physical tickets can be purchased until the draw time at Buttercrane Shopping Centre. Postal entries must be received by Monday, 28th October 2024.
  3. The draw will take place at 5pm on Saturday, 2nd November 2024, at Buttercrane Shopping Centre, Newry.
  4. The promoter reserves the right to change the draw date, with details posted on the Hospice website.
  5. Entry may be declined at the promoter's discretion.
  6. Entering the car draw does not mean you are entered into any other lottery/raffle/draw run by the Southern Area Hospice.
  7. Each entry costs £2.
  8. All proceeds generated by the draw will go towards funding the work of Southern Area Hospice.
  9. To enter via the online entry route, you must:
    1. Go to the website https://southernareahospice.enthuse.com/carraffle#!/
  10. To enter via the direct mailing entry route, you must:
    1. Return the entry form and tickets you received via the post.
    2. Return your payment of minimum £2 donation (1 entry)
    3. Entries sent by post must be posted to the relevant postal address no later than Monday 28th October 2024.
  11. To enter via the telephone entry route, you must:
    1. Ring the Southern Area Hospice Fundraising Department on 028 3026 7711;
    2. Make your donation by giving your card details over the phone (Minimum £2 – 1 Entry).
  12. Senior leadership team and members of Income Generation team cannot enter the raffle. All other Hospice staff can enter.

 

  1. Choosing a winner

 

  1. The draw will take place at Buttercrane Shopping Centre, Newry at approximately 5pm on Saturday 2nd November 2024 in the presence of representatives of the charity and an independent verifier.
  2. All eligible entries will be included in the draw.
  3. All eligible entries (online, direct mailing, telephone & physical tickets) names will be put into a tombola and the winner will be picked at random.  The first name drawn will be the winner of the prize which will be read out in public and feature on our social media channels. This will include full name, and town of residence.
  4. The decision of the promoter is final.
  5. The winner of the Southern Area Hospice Win a Car Draw will be notified in person, by telephone, email or by letter at the promoter’s earliest convenience.
  6. If a prize winner cannot be contacted or is not available within a reasonable time (maximum 2 weeks from first attempt to contact by promotor) using the contact details provided, another winner will be drawn.
  7. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in promotional activities and allows the use of their name, town, and photo unless they opt out beforehand.
  8. The winner must claim the prize personally. The prize must not be claimed by a third party on the winner’s behalf.

 

 

  1. Cancellation of Entry and Refunds

 

  1. All draw entries are final and no refunds for the entry fee will be made at any time under any circumstances.
  2. Entry payment does not guarantee winning a prize.
  3. The promotor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of these rules.

 

  1. Liability

 

  1. The promoter is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from postal or delivery delays or any event beyond its control.
  2. The promoter and associated parties are not responsible for any loss, damage, injury, or death related to the prize.

 

 

  1. Eligibility

 

  1. The draw is open to all residents in UK and Ireland aged 16 years or over.
  2. The promoter reserves the right to disqualify entrants whose conduct is contrary to the spirit of the draw.

 

  1. Players Responsibility

 

  1. All entrants are solely responsible to provide the promoter with their accurate and up-to-date contact details. The promoter will in no way be liable for any failure or inability to contact any entrant due to any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the contact details that the entrant has provided.
  2. If an entrant changes their contact details, they will be solely responsible for advising the promoter of the change.

 

  1. Data Protection:
    1. Records of draw entrants’ details will be retained by the promoter for at least three years.
    2. By entering the draw, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the draw entry may be held and used by the promoter or its agents and suppliers to administer the draw.
    3. If you are the winner of the draw, you agree that the promoter may use your name, image and town or county of residence to announce the winner of this draw. You further agree to participate in any reasonable publicity required by the promoter.

  1. Complaints Procedure:
    1. Complaints should be sent in writing to the Director of Development at Southern Area Hospice, including full details and supporting documentation.

 

  1. General
    1. The promoter may amend these terms from time to time. The latest version will be available on the website.
    2. The promoter may exclude entrants or void the draw if necessary.
    3. The promoter reserves the right to hold, void, suspend, cancel, or amend the draw if required.
